Some words by people who have read Marlowe’s Complaint…
Marlowe’s Complaint is a great achievement. Lovely read with lots of solid coherently argued material, much of it new and much that I totally agree with.

Wow, it’s a pretty ‘dense‘ read…so far, with so much crammed in …but that’s a good thing!

I read your book with enormous interest, and am completely convinced by your hypothesis; . . . you provide a much warmer and sympathetic character of Marlowe.

“I love reading the sonnets as Marlowe’s account of getting from wherever he is to who-knows-where he is going. It will be a great help to all of those Shakespere [sic] scholars who can’t connect anything in the sonnets to their subject’s apparently nonexistent private life.”
I find myself in complete agreement over the Sonnets & what they tell us. I also liked your approach to ‘stylometrics’, not to mention Greene & ‘The Man Who Wasn’t There’! [Chapter 9] I was fascinated by a link made to the 1st Lord North & possible connection to Alice Arden.

An amazing book!

Peter Hodges makes a powerful case for Christopher Marlowe being the author of the writings attributed to William Shakespeare. He has done the research and has found the evidence that makes it clear that Marlowe was the author. The book is written in a clear, non-academic style, that makes understanding and following the discussion of the evidence compelling. Even if you are one who thinks that Shakespeare wrote anything of note, it is worth your time to read this book. You may have a different view at the end. Five stars!

Marlowe’s Complaint is brilliant. The research is impressive, the writing style is catchy and the interpretations are intriguing, even shocking at times. No wonder Marlowe complained!
